Well school is officially out for summer. Isla finished a week before Sawyer and we went to our nearby park for a little picnic and were treated to some songs by the Pre-K 3 class of St Joe's. And I think that Isla will be happy when she returns for Pre-K 4 with most of the same kids and the same teachers. She had a great year. Sawyer finished up a few days later, wrapping up the year with a field day - different than it was from my days. This wasn't about running races, etc. but was filled with silly games that they played outside. In some ways I think it's better - less competition, more fun. So they did water games, hula hoops, etc. She had a great time and had lunch at school - a preview of what's to come in 1st grade. I can't believe that we need to buy our girl a lunchbox for next year...and come up with non-nut ideas for what the heck to put in it for her...gone are the days of a pb&j and some chips.
Since I've been less than good at blogging and when it's warm out I use the real camera less, and my phone camera more, I'm going to use a lot of pictures that I've taken with my phone when we've been out and about.
Some of these are a little old, but I loved them - like Margot climbing into her new sleeping bag for the first time. She was pretty jealous her sisters had sleeping bags and couldn't really get into movie nights like they could, so Grandma helped us fix that for her birthday...and she loves it. Irish eyes are smiling here....
I think I mentioned that we didn't get Margot a birthday present. Not to worry people, my girl and I went to Target one day and she took a fancy to this Minnie shopping cart. She pushed it through the store for a good 30 minutes while I finished my shopping - getting lots of smiles along the way, and I didn't have the heart not to buy it for her. She has since walked it outside on the sidewalks, and throughout the house, so I think it's a hit.
The rest are in no order b/c I have limited time...but I'll explain each. First up, Mark and the girls went to Michigan in early May and Sawyer and I stayed behind for school and work. She got a special night out for pizza with Mom and was loving it. She was loving having all my attention.
Caroline came to visit one weekend to watch Sawyer play softball. Instead she caught us on the rainy/colder part of the last month so the game was cancelled and instead we just hung out at home. Here are her and Isla...when we are out of the house I always joke that people will think Isla is Caroline's daughter. That said, we took the girls to church and the lady behind us asked if all of the girls were mine (as in my 3 + Caroline). I sort of laughed and said, well that one isn't - she's my cousin! God help me if people think I have a kid in her 20s and a 2 year old.
In general though we've had great weather this spring/early summer. We took the kids to the zoo - which I believe I mentioned before ended in disaster. Before that happened we had a great ride on the carousel.
We've spent time playing with our toys, and one afternoon while Margot was napping Isla and I played with her magnatiles. This is the dog that we made (from a picture people - don't be that impressed)...but it still turned out great and as you can see she was very proud of it.

Mark was away running his marathon, and Sawyer had a birthday party at the bowling alley in town so I took the two youngest out for pizza this time. Isla was the opposite of her sister Sawyer, preferring we basically sit in silence...and I decided to take her picture.
While we waited for the party to wrap up we hung out by the fountain listening to a band warm up, and ate some chocolate treats we got from a local shop. Love our town.
In new news, Margot loves big girl beds. No she doesn't have one yet, but a few times she's asked to take her nap in Isla's. On this day I let her, and I also snuck in to take a picture to document it! She is sleeping under her dog Porter with Mickey by her side. She didn't make a peep when I put her in, and didn't try to climb out. I have a feeling we aren't too far from figuring out a big girl bed in her room...certainly fall at the latest.
Grandma and Grandpa Harris got Margot some awesome soccer nets for her birthday. They get use for soccer, but also more frequently are put together and made into a fort. Here is Isla getting ready to "go to sleep" in her house.

And here is Sawyer looking super grown up on one of her last days of Kindergarten. She rocked the pig tails that day, and is starting to like to wear her hair up more and more. Now that it's summer it is also getting a whole lot of curl back in it - at the same length in winter it would be maybe wavy, but now we definitely can get ringlets post pool, or running around outside. I love that curly hair.
And...the tooth fairy has been working overtime - she has lost three teeth so far, and another is loose. It is making biting with her front teeth very hard - we've had to cut up corn on the cob and other foods for her. She has been very excited - she got $5 for her first tooth, and 4 quarters for each of the others. So far, she used it to buy a happy meal at McDonalds, and then also bought some Airheads at the pool.
Sawyer continues to play softball and is doing so well. She's gotten so much better over the course of a month. She hits really well, fields, and knows where to make plays. We're really proud of her and glad she finds it fun. She also started tennis lessons this week - the first of which was a hit. I didn't think she'd be that enthusiastic but it makes me happy. Mark and I played with her on Sunday and she didn't want to let me off the court. We played for 45-60 minutes before she would stop...don't worry - she did yell at me most of that time if I wasn't hitting the ball well enough to her (too high, too low, too slow, too fast, wrong side). All I have to say is, this is why she's getting lessons from someone else. And the summer activities continue, Mark took them to a movie in town this morning, and the library, and they are just generally having a good time...guess that's what summer is about...
