Fall is definitely upon us here in Chicago, evidenced by the leaves accumulating in our backyard. While Mark did the honors of raking them up, he did let Sawyer get in on the fun and run, jump, play in them. On more than one occasion this weekend she went out to play in the leaves - mainly just throwing them up into the air and watching them come back down on her head. Mark put some down the back of her diaper/pants and it was so funny watching her try to get them out
Most of the pictures were action shots as she didn't want to stop and pose. We think we have at least one more big tree that'll give her some leaves to play in, so probably a whole more month of playtime outside.
Doing push-ups...because why not...
Sawyer was a pretty darn good girl for us this weekend. It's amazing what getting her back to her normal schedule and bed does for her. She caught up on sleep and her cold seemed to be going away and girl was great Saturday and Sunday. We took her to the doctor on Saturday morning for her 2 yr old appt and shots and learned that our 2 yr old weighs in at 29 lbs 4 oz and measures 34.5 inches (about 50-75% for both). Aside from a weird hatred for bandaids, which I thought all kids loved, she did great and we got some new medicine to try for her exzema, which makes me happy. Spent the rest of the morning out at the farmers market and walking around our new little town. Fresh air was great and we came home and had some of our cider from the market.
Spent a lot of time being silly, including putting our socks on our hands and playing with her daddy...
...including showing off the cat on her butt. Sawyer picked out the pants herself and loved showing them off.
After hitting up the Halloween store for a costume - she'll be either a cat or a devil (her choice was a devil) - and picking up some pumpkins we spent some more time outside coloring with chalk.
Overall, we had a pretty low key weekend. I hit up some furniture stores which was tiring, but think we have a gameplan for next weekend to see if we can't start filling up a few rooms. First on the list are the guest room and Sawyer's big girl room so we can move her out of the crib and make room for baby. Once that is done I'd feel great because I could start pulling out baby clothes and such to make myself feel ready for the big arrival.
