Happy Halloween

Overall was a pretty good Halloween.  The girls each brought their costumes and some candy bags for friends to school.  They had a little costume parade, which I missed because it lasted all of 5 minutes, but the girls got picked up early and we went home to have some candy, and get ready for trick or treating.

Isla was Tinkerbell this year, and Sawyer was Rapunzel, so a bit of a princess theme this year.  Because we needed to be able to keep Isla warm in her costume she rocked some tights and a skirt and really thought she looked good.  We took her picture just before putting her costume on and she was happy strutting her stuff.
Fast forward a few minutes, and she's not happy with the outfit change.  I had these visions of getting a cute picture of them together, but not so much.
Sawyer happily posed by the pumpkins before they went outside.
 Girl loves her some Rapunzel
She even showed off her long Rapunzel hair braid...though we had trouble keeping it on her head while were trick or treating.
We went outside for just a bit while we waited for Daddy to get home on an early train.  Turns out people start trick or treating early in our hood.  I saw people walking around at 3 o'clock, and by 4 there were more than a handful.  We headed out around 4:45 and I'm pretty sure we were home just a little after 5.  Mark took Isla for a quick spin on the bike to try and calm her down - she was still mad about that costume, but eventually calmed down.
We ended up walking over to a neighbors where a bunch of people were congregating. Sawyer and Isla were basically mute.  We were with them for four houses, and then split off because Sawyer was feeling shy.  We ended up making it to three more houses and that's it.  Isla ended up getting into it, and while we couldn't pull a "Trick or Treat" out of her, she was great at saying Thank you and yelling Bye.
Sawyer continued as a mute, and at some houses wouldn't have taken candy she was being so shy.  Both girls it turns out were quite tired, so we headed home, cooked up some spaghetti and hung out in our jammies waiting for trick or treaters.  We did not get many, but each time the doorbell rang Sawyer and Isla ran to answer.  Was off to bed not too much later, and despite that it was hard to wake them both up the next morning.
