Goings On

It was a busy week, with both girls back in school and lots to do at work.  Plus, we found out mid-week that there was a Daddy Daughter dance at Sawyer's school Friday night that had escaped out attention, and Sawyer really wanted to go.  Luckily, I went to a little get together Thursday night with some of the Kindergarten Moms and learned that (1) you needed tickets, which we didn't have, and (2) there was a theme - luau....none of which Mark knew.  So, in addition to meeting some of the other Moms we also managed to avert a bit of a crisis Friday night. 

Mark took the kids to the mall on Friday and picked up some attire for himself and Sawyer, and I got to hang at home with these girls...who are currently very into dressing up.

Sawyer got a parrot tank top and a flower headband for her attire, which was matched with one of her skirts.  Here she is practicing her hula.

And a better view of her flower headband.  Mark said she had a great time, and mostly played with a handful of girls, who she seems to be getting closer with, and luckily all live very close to us.  Mark was able to meet a few of the dads, and we got some great photos back.  They had a photo booth of sorts and so we have a nice little set of photos of them being goofy together.

Sawyer came home totally wired and full of stories, and ended up staying up till 11pm with me on the couch watching tv and the ipad.  She needed some serious downtime and ended up a bit tired the next day.  We went to the O'Donoghue's for some play time which helped tire them out further and everyone was in bed pretty early that night.  Unfortunately our girls have had some bad behavior lately - lots of talking back, rude talk, and just all around disrespectful - so tonight they were told that the ipad has been put away for the week, and based on how they behave this week will determine if they get it back next weekend or if it will be kept away one more week.  I have no idea if this will work, but we'll give it a shot.
