A birthday...

Isla celebrated her 3rd birthday while we were in Baltimore as well.  We went and did some duck pin bowling at my parents club which was fun.  All the kids and adults seemed to enjoy it, but when you have 6-8 lanes, and about double that in people you basically end up just continuously bowling.  There wasn't much keeping score, just a lot of rolling the balls as soon as the pins were set up.

I hadn't really planned on duck pin bowling but the balls are lighter and so it actually ended up being good for the kids, though perhaps slightly more challenging for the adults.  Some pics from the day include:

Isla and Grandma watching her ball roll....which sometimes felt like you were watching paint dry...
Margot and Mark hanging out watching.
A panoramic of the group on the lanes.
 Isla mid-bowl.  Such fine form...

My family was nice to indulge me trying to give Isla a "party".  We ended up getting pizza after the bowling and then having cake.  Isla was whining for this cake all afternoon.  She is not great at waiting or patience and wants what she sees, when she sees it.  So we can't talk to her about having dessert after dinner because she will want dessert immediately.  Not her best quality.  But here she is with her specially requested rainbow cake...
Blowing out the candles didn't work first time around, so here we are doing it together on round 2...
Dancing after dinner with her Barbie shirt on from Aunt Sue and Uncle Jeff..
All in all a good day for our girl.  She got lots of presents as well, but has never been that into gifts.  She's somewhat unlike most kids in that she opens one thing and wants to go off and play with it awhile.  Even if there's more boxes waiting for her.  Much to the dismay of her sister and cousins who wanted her to open everything immediately.
