A Little bit of this and that...

Like everyone, the Harris family is counting down till Christmas.  Literally - while we don't have an Advent calendar or anything for the kids, Sawyer does give us an update daily of the number of days we have left. We've been trying to do all the standard fun stuff leading up till the holiday - making cookies, playing in snow, watching Christmas movies, reading Christmas books...you name it.  I wish I could say that the threat of the naughty list has kept the girls on their best behavior at all times, but alas it has not.  They've been pretty good, but sometimes we desire peace and quiet too.

A snap of our snowman Frosty.  We got a little warmer weather and he started to melt a bit but somehow he's still standing.  These girls do love to be out in the snow, and Sawyer especially loves when she needs to get out there and shovel.  I hope she never loses this.

We've sort of steadily been making cookies throughout the month of December.  We made Peanut Butter Blossoms first, but those were gone in a week.  We made Choc Chip Cookie, but those are gone now too, and so this weekend we finally made our cutouts.  It's always a three day affair, making the dough on Friday, do the cutouts Saturday, and frost on Sunday.  Here are the girls decorating this morning.  It's always dangerous when there's a new batch because they would eat them all day if possible.

Also of note was that the girls and I got out for a movie this weekend.  We took in the new Disney movie Frozen, which we all enjoyed a lot.  It was Isla's first movie at the theater and she did so good.  There were about 30 min or previews after which she asked if we could leave.  She only asked one other time - during a somewhat scary part of the movie - crisis averted by holding my hand.  Clearly they liked it as Sawyer has had parts of the movie playing on YouTube all morning.  

Now what about our littlest girl you ask?  Well she is the cutest.  We had a picture of Sawyer as a baby out this morning and it's amazing how identical they are. Our girl will be 7 months on Christmas Eve and she's just growing so much.  She loves to eat, and has gotten into people food far faster than any of the other girls. We are much more laid back and let her try most of what we have.  So a large stalk of broccoli was met with a lot of excitement, spaghetti noodles also good, cut up blueberries...And most importantly our girl is getting ready to take off moving for real.  She's doing a bit of scooting now - she can turn around on her butt and definitely dives for things.  Sometimes she gets herself onto all fours but usually lets her butt fall to the ground so no crawling yet.  Her favorite thing by far though is standing.  This girl is constantly seeking mine or Mark's hands to help pull herself up.  She also "walks" around the ottoman and her music table.  This eventually results in her falling but she's rounding the corners on her own.  Feels like we'll have an early walker on our hands, but time will tell.  Either way, we are loving this girl.

Now we are having a day at home.  Did some cleaning, doing some relaxing, and counting down till Grandma and Grandpa Harris arrive on Tuesday to celebrate with us.  They've got a few girls who are looking for some attention from them.
