Three Wonderful Hours

Today the family took a fabulous three hour nap together. It wasn't planned, just kind of happened. Last night Mark and I went to see the Old 97s in Wrigley - the opening band started at 10p, and Old 97s started around 11 or so. Needless to say didn't get home till late, which is harder to do now that we're guaranteed to be up by 7am. Sawyer didn't cooperate all that well - she woke up at 6:22am - i know because i stared at my alarm clock in disbelief. So, I was tired. We played for a little longer than normal, and Sawyer went down for a nap at 9:15...at 9:20 i got back into bed to read a magazine/sleep and it seems mark fell asleep on the couch. Three hours later both Mark and I wake up, and realize Sawyer is still going - she clocked in 3 1/2 hours.
I know you're all thinking OMG what horrible parents we are to let Sawyer get off schedule...get over it people - we stick to a "flexible" schedule. Besides, it turns out that Sawyer has her third ear infection of the year so she deserves some extra rest. She always has congestion it seems, but her cough and congestion had gotten worse in the last few days, and she had a mild fever. While I know there is nothing to do for a cold, every time she gets a bad one she has an ear infection....so off to the doctor we went on Saturday. We're now on antibiotics and will head back to the doctor in two weeks - good timing b/c she'll get checked out just before our trip to Buffalo. So I digress, while I'm pretty sure we did things other than the concert, our three hour nap is my main memory from this weekend because I really needed it, and I think Mark did too.
