Pre-Birthday Celebrations

The weather here in Chicago has been AH-Mazing this last week.  It's been sunny and 70s/80s all week which has meant lots of time outside and even some runs and walks for me.  We've been getting closer to a certain little miss turning one and have been counting down.

Margot has taken a big interest in eating with silverware these days...scamming some of Isla's breakfast.
I popped off work early on Friday and went to pick Sawyer up.  We headed out on a bunch of errands, mostly related to Margot's birthday.  Our first stop was the toy store to get Margot's present - a bubble lawn mower.  When we got it home it was a big hit - with all three kids fighting for turns.  Finally we had to step in and make sure they knew it was Margot's.
She liked walking it around the lawn quite a bit.  It has been out all weekend.
Of course at the toy store Sawyer made a play for something for herself.  In addition to a jewelry box that she can decorate we picked up some lacrosse sticks.
Sawyer and I played for quite a while together.  She was great at throwing the ball - girl has a cannon on her. We're still working on catching though she usually gets a few.
After some playing we headed out for a walk into town.  Friday nights are car show night in our town so the streets are lined with all manner of old cars in great shape.  We walked around, grabbed some dinner, played at the playground and got some face painting done.  Girls were digging it, though too bad they needed to wash it off just before bed.
 Our little kitty:
It was a great pre-birthday celebration...capped off by an even better morning when we got our girl up, and sang to her, and gave her a donut with a candle.
